Ela’s Adventures

*my life’s quest*

The “C” word… that’s how it all started

Ela Adventures was created when I first left on my quest for healing my “death sentence” breast cancer. Listening to family and friends concern for my safety I decided to start my “Ela Adventures” FB page to be in touch and have them follow my journey into the unknown to make sure I’m safe and alive. Heading out in my Dodge Journey, sleeping in the car and taking showers at the beach or fitness studios inspired many that a simple life can not only be appreciated but be extremely rewarding and soul warming.
LITTLE DID I KNOW BACK IN SEP 2017 THAT IT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING TO A NEW ERA OF MY LIFE

Egypt… simply wow

Culture, people, turquoise waters, ancient archeological vibrational influence where women are truly cherished (with exceptions of course), snorkelling & diving to experience the vast natural underwater beauty. Silently watching the dolphins swim in the early morning sitting on my balcony was the antidote to the background Arabian noises of prayers, horns honking, and music throughout the day and well into the night. You” either love it or hate it… there’s nothing in-between! It all started with one week taking my mom for her 80th birthday and ended in moving overseas for a year with my sixteen-year-old son. A memory forever cherished by both of us.
IT WAS AWESOME… UNTIL IT WASN’T 😘

Bali… hmmm not my thing

One of the top five global travel destinations doesn’t make it my “thing”. Humid hot, quite a few disgusting beaches, barely escaped ferry “flip” accident and Asians on scooters like ants on an anthill. Sorry..
A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE FOR SURE THOUGH

South Africa… multifaceted

Culturally so different in ways that “whites” live behind electric fences and are scared to go out after dark while other “colours” live on the street and in ghettos. Sure.. something to get used to and have an “exit plan” just in case. Travelling local buses was an experience par excellence and an accident in the middle of nowhere at night was a trigger for the utmost caution. Amazing surf hooked me into a new dream while boogie boarding. Gotta learn to surf!
SURE IS ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE!

German Alps … breath taking

When you’re in the flow of life, things unfold easily. So it was with this unexpected trip. A girlfriend and I decided to jump on the ICE Highspeed train for eight hours to reunite with another BFF after almost forty-five years. A few fun-filled sleepless nights catching up and getting lost in old memories while experiencing the charm and grace of Garmisch-Partenkirchen reiterated the importance of good old friends
